Construct Dividing Wall in Pool Area Building 00022

Federal Construction Group built a glass block wall providing a division between the pool and foot traffic between the east and west end of the gymnasium.  The dividing wall had two access doors, one at either end of the wall to provide access to the pool.  The new 5′-0″ tall, self supporting, 8″x8″x4″ glass block wall with curved glass block top was built directly over the existing tile flooring.  All supports, plates, and fasteners were concealed within the new wall.  The wall was built directly over the tile flooring and cove tile at the base of the wall was grouted to create a watertight seal.  Two new self closing stainless steel, epoxy coated steel access doors with vision lite were installed and sealed to prevent water intrusion on all four edges.  Door jambs were epoxy paint coated steel and sealed at the top of jamb.  Doors had a heavy duty, hinge mounted door stop which stopped the doors from swinging at 90 degrees.  Door #1 have panic hardware on the push side of door and lockable lever (keyed) hardward on the pull side.  Door #2 had passage lever on push side of door and lockable lever (keyed) hardware on the pull side.  The door was labeled on the push side “Not an Exit”.
