In preparation for CBP seaport sites in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area being placed on the CBP Port Radiation Inspection, Detection and Evaluation (PRIDE) network, certain network infrastructure upgrade activities had to be performed.  Federal Construction Group was tasked to provide surge protection on network cabling, updating equipment cabinets and uninterruptable power supplies in CBP booths, installing programmable traffic control equipment and pulling limited amount of new fiber in existing conduits.  The work of various network infrastructure improvements took place at Pier 300, Pier 400, Pier A, Pier f, Pier G, Pier J, Pier T, Evergreen, Yusen Rail/Back Gate, Yusen Main Gate, TraPac, and WBCT terminals.  We installed surge protection devices on all network cabling, installed new equipment cabinets and uninterruptable power supplies in CBP booths, installed various junction boxes to house network equipment items, installed programmable traffic control equipment, installed new fiber optic cable in existing conduit, disposed of all replaced booth equipment racks/cabinets and disposed of all work debris and activity-generated waste.  All work was performed at fully operating port facilities with our work hours having to be adjusted to accommodate Port and CBP operations.
