Repair Roofs of Bldgs. 12010 & 12020

Federal Construction Group, Inc. is tasked to replace both Buildings 12010 and 12020 deteriorated composite roofing and dock deteriorated wood bumpers. Repaint both Buildings 12010 and 12020 interior walls and ceiling. Repaint both Buildings 12010 and 12020 exterior building guard plates.

  1. Remove and modify existing electrical conduits, grounding wiring, light boxes and mechanical vents on roof as necessary for new roofing system. Light boxes and mechanical vents contain lead based paint on the interior and exterior which shall be abated prior to application of new anti-rust paint. Provide new copper ground wire attached to the grounding strap on the exterior of the main door, and attached to each light box and mechanical vent. Do not paint the grounding wire or connectors.
  2. Remove existing roofing system, wood wafer board and interior plaster ceiling.
  3. Provide 2×4 roof framing members at 16-inch on center and to frame existing lights and vents. Provide pressure treated wood where the framing member is attached to concrete. Fasten roof framing members to existing concrete walls and beams, and to the inverted steel tees. Fasten with joist hangers wherever practical.
  4. Provide 3-inch thick rigid insulation between roof framing members.
  5. Provide 3/4-inch CDX plywood roof sheathing fastened to roof framing members.
  6. Provide 1-inch fiberboard roof insulation fastened to plywood roof sheathing.
  7. Provide single ply roofing system, minimum 60 mil membrane, and all associated flashing and fastening system over the magazine portion of the building, including the elevated concrete beams. Do not provide roofing over the concrete overhang and berm areas. New metal flashing shall be galvanized (with no paint). The single ply roofing system shall provide a twenty year warranty, shall meet the wind resistant requirements for 100 mph wind, shall meet the requirements of ASTM D6878 “Standard Specification for Thermoplastic Polyolefin Based Sheet Roofing”, shall be white color and Energy Star Listed, shall meet the requirements for a Class A roof covering, shall be mechanically fastened, and shall meet the manufacturers requirements.
  8. Provide 1×3 wood (Douglas Fir) ceiling framing boards fastened to underside of roof framing members at 16-inch on center.
  9. Provide 5/8-inch gypsum wallboard fastened to ceiling framing boards. Provide taped and light texture finish. Provide painting with prime and two coats
  10. Provide security protection coverings for eight light boxes (3/8-inch steel rods with maximum 4-inch spacing). Bars will be welded to steel frames (3/8-inch minimum thickness) securely anchored to the underside of the ceiling structure by smooth head bolts (3/8-inch minimum diameter). Clean both sides of the existing glazing.
  11. Provide security protection coverings and grounding straps for three duct openings. (3/8-inch steel rods with maximum 4-inch spacing). Bars will be welded to steel frames (3/8-inch minimum thickness) securely anchored concrete mechanical duct by smooth head bolts (3/8-inch minimum diameter). New grounding strap shall be of similar material and connected to the existing grounding strap. Do not paint the grounding strap or connectors. See attached photo as an example.
  12. Paint the interior walls, both sides of door frame and door leaves, and guard plate with prime and two coats. Do not paint the grounding strap or connectors.
  13. Replace dock wood bumper with in-kind new wood bumper including new oil paint.
