Federal Construction Group, Inc has been tasked to perform painting maintenance and repairs to two elevated steel potable water storage tanks.

Tank 43

Tank 43 is located near the intersection of State Road 45 and State Road 115. The tank is on top of a hill and is surrounded by open areas, parking lots, and buildings. The nearest overhead power lines are located south of the site. This tank stores potable water and has a capacity of 100,000 gallons. The hemispherical bottom, cone roof tank is of riveted and welded steel construction. The tank nameplate stated the tank was erected in 1942 by Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Company. The container diameter is approximately 24 feet, and the height from ground to the top of the container is approximately 109 feet. Storge tanks located at Naval Support Activity Crane, Indiana.

The painting maintenance work for tank 43 associated with this RFP includes:

Containment

Spot cleaning

Power washing

Top coating the exterior. This includes all existing previously coated surfaces and new or repaired surfaces and appurtenances.

Option 2

Repair work for tank 43 associated with this includes:

Enlarge the riser manhole

Welding diagonal bracing cotter pin connections

Install an overflow elastomeric check valve

Modify exterior ladders

Seal roof-to-shell connection

Replacing balcony safety railing members 

Install curbs around balcony pipe openings 

Install roof platform closure chains 

Replace roof platform safety railing members

Install a clog resistant vent 

Remove the tank interior ladder 

Isolate lead joint at the inlet/outlet pipe

Tank 2534

Tank 2534 is located off of Road 331. Wooded areas are located around the site. A utility pole is located on the site, and overhead power lines are connected to this pole. This tank stores potable water and has a capacity of 100,000 gallons, and the hemispherical bottom, cone roof tank is of riveted and welded steel construction. The container diameter is approximately 28 feet 9 inches and the height from the ground to the top of the container is approximately 178 feet.

Option 3

Repair work for tank 2534 associated with this includes:

Enlarge the riser manhole 

Install an overflow elastomeric check valve 

Modify exterior ladders 

Seal roof-to-shell connection 

Modify balcony safety railing members 

Cover balcony hole

Install roof platform closure chains 

Replace roof platform safety railing members 

Install a clog resistant vent 

Remove the tank interior ladder 

Isolate (2) lead joints at the inlet/outlet pipe and circulation penetration
