Repair Range Control Center Fire Suppression System
Federal Construction Group was tasked to repair the fire protection systems at the Range Control Center, Building 31455. This facility is mission critical for all the test operations facilities. Originally the building was protected with a preaction sprinkler system, but this was converted to wet pipe system years ago. Over the last few years the sprinkler system had developed several leaks due to extensive corrosion. In order to prevent a catastrophic event the fire suppression systems needed to be replaced. Federal Construction Group designed, constructed, serviced and installed a new and complete wet pipe sprinkler system throughout the building. This work was done in a mission critical facility so scheduling and phasing required in some areas working during the night. The work included removing the existing sprinkler system and providing a new wet pipe sprinkler system. We also performed inspection, testing, and maintenance on the existing under floor CO2 system.
